AT KU, much of the information technologies research is associated with the Information and Telecommunication Technology Center (ITTC). This Center advances knowledge and creates innovative technologies in telecommunications, information systems, bioinformatics, and radar. The Center has resources and state-of-the-art facilities supporting various multidisciplinary inquiries. ITTC-affiliated faculty members have served as federal program directors at NSF, DARPA, and NASA. ITTC brings together researchers from KU, private companies, and federal agencies with a strong focus on applied, collaborative research. This overall effort is lead by a Industrial Advisory Board.
ITTC sponsors various multidisciplinary research projects that includes faculty, students, and companies. These kinds of projects focus on real world IT problems. The Center has a very good record for generating, protecting, and licensing intellectual property.
